Dorchester Minerals settles Texas litigation for $15.5 million
Dorchester Minerals, L.P. (NASDAQ: DMLP) announced it reached a settlement agreement with unrelated third parties regarding litigation over leasehold properties in Midland County, Texas.
The Dallas-based partnership's operating unit received $15.5 million in proceeds from the settlement, which resolves what the company described as ordinary course litigation. The settlement amount will be included in the April 2026 Net Profits Interest payment to Dorchester Minerals, L.P.
The litigation involved certain leasehold properties in Midland County, Texas, owned by Dorchester Minerals Operating LP and subject to the Net Profits Interest. The company did not disclose additional details about the nature of the legal dispute or the identity of the other parties involved.
Dorchester Minerals, L.P. owns producing and non-producing oil and natural gas mineral, royalty, overriding royalty, and net profits interests across 28 states. The partnership's common units trade on the NASDAQ Global Select Market.
