Cellectis (NASDAQ: CLLS) announced that an arbitral tribunal issued its decision in arbitration proceedings against Les Laboratoires Servier and Institut de Recherches Internationales Servier IRIS SARL regarding a licensing agreement signed in March 2019.
The tribunal ruled on a partial termination of the license agreement specifically concerning product UCART19 V1, also known as ALLO-501 by Allogene. The decision requires Cellectis to engage in good-faith discussions with Allogene regarding granting a direct license to the product upon Allogene's request.
All other claims brought by both parties in the dispute were dismissed by the tribunal, according to the company's statement.
The original license, development and commercialization agreement between Servier and Cellectis was entered into on March 6, 2019, and was subsequently amended. The arbitration proceedings addressed issues relating to this licensing arrangement.
Cellectis operates as a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on gene-editing technology for cell and gene therapies. The company trades on both the Nasdaq Global Market under ticker CLLS and on Euronext Growth under ticker ALCLS.
The company is headquartered in Paris, France, with additional locations in New York and Raleigh, North Carolina.
