Walmart cuts prices on summer items across US stores

Investing.com -- Walmart and Sam's Club announced price reductions on thousands of items across their stores and clubs nationwide this summer. The retailers lowered prices on grocery items, household essentials, outdoor products, toys and apparel.

Walmart's price rollbacks include ground beef at $5.94 per pound from $6.74, fresh sweet corn at $0.25 per ear from $0.68, and fresh red cherries at $5.63 for a 2.25-pound bag from $11.18. The retailer also reduced prices on ice cream, potato chips, variety snack packs, paper plates and soft drink multipacks.

"Customers count on Walmart to deliver the value they need every day, and summer is no exception," said Julie Barber, Executive Vice President and Chief Merchant, Walmart U.S. "This summer, we're making even more investments in price, with thousands of Rollbacks across the products customers are shopping for most including beef, fresh produce and beverages, grills, pools, toys and summer fashion apparel."

Sam's Club reduced prices on more than 250 items, including Member's Mark Bone-In Chicken Wings at $2.00 per pound from $2.88 per pound, Member's Mark Beef Hot Dogs at $10.86 from $12.96, and Member's Mark Ground Beef at $5.97 per pound from $6.17 per pound.

Customers can purchase the discounted items in stores, at clubs, on Walmart.com and SamsClub.com, and through the Walmart and Sam's Club mobile applications. Pickup and delivery options are available in many locations.
