Textron Systems wins $231 million Navy contract for landing craft
Investing.com - Textron Systems Corp. has been awarded a $231.5 million contract modification by the U.S. Department of War to build two Ship to Shore Connector Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC-100)-class crafts. The fixed-price incentive contract modifies a previously awarded agreement from 2023.
The New Orleans-based defense contractor will perform 62% of the work in New Orleans, Louisiana, with the remaining work distributed across nine other locations. Other significant work sites include Camden, New Jersey (8%), Cincinnati, Ohio (6%), and Gloucester, United Kingdom (4%).
Smaller portions of work will be completed in Harahan, Louisiana (2%), Hunt Valley, Maryland (1%), Portsmouth, Virginia (1%), Huntington Beach, California (1%), and Chanhassen, Minnesota (1%). The remaining 14% of work will occur at other unspecified locations.
The contract is expected to be completed by May 24, 2032. Fiscal 2026 shipbuilding and conversion funds in the amount of $231,488,876 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., serves as the contracting activity for the landing craft construction project. The original contract was designated N00024-23-C-2452.
