Investing.com -- Raytheon (NYSE: RTX) has been awarded multiple defense contracts worth approximately $77.8 million for missile systems and naval equipment.
Raytheon Missiles and Defense, based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, received a $24.9 million firm-fixed-price order for AEGIS solid state switch assembly mod kits with on-board assembly spares for Navy guided-missile destroyers. This order falls under a previously awarded Basic Ordering Agreement.
Work on this contract will be distributed across multiple locations: 56% in Andover, Massachusetts; 28% in Chesapeake, Virginia; 15% in Marlborough, Massachusetts; and 1% in Burlington, Massachusetts. The project is scheduled for completion by December 2028.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is overseeing this contract, which was not competitively procured as it falls under provisions for sole-source acquisition.
Additionally, Raytheon Co. in Tucson, Arizona, secured a $41.7 million firm-fixed-price modification to an existing contract for Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) C8 and D3 variants. This modification increases the total contract value to $2.51 billion from $2.47 billion. Work will be performed in Tucson with completion expected by May 30, 2030.
This contract includes foreign military sales to 35 countries, including the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Japan, and others. Funding comes from fiscal 2025 Navy weapons procurement, Air Force operation and maintenance funds, and Foreign Military Sales.
In a separate award, Raytheon Co. received an $11.2 million firm-fixed-price modification for the same AMRAAM missile variants, specifically for Wave 11C Part 2 life of type obsolescence parts purchases. This work, also to be performed in Tucson, has a completion date of December 31, 2027, and involves military sales to 21 countries.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is managing both AMRAAM-related contracts.
