Lockheed Martin wins $871 million F-35 contract modification
Investing.com -- The U.S. Department of War awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. an $871,243,964 modification to an existing contract for F-35 Lightning II support equipment and sustainment efforts, the department said Friday.
The modification increases the contract ceiling to provide additional capacity for support equipment under the F-35 site activation and hardware non-recurring sustainment effort. The contract covers initial sustainment supplies and services for establishing and activating land-based and at-sea F-35 operational sites.
The work supports the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Cooperative Program Partners, and Foreign Military Sales customers. Work will be performed in El Segundo, California (90%) and Fort Worth, Texas (10%), with completion expected in February 2031.
No funds will be obligated at the time of award. Funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The modification was not competitively procured. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
Separately, Lockheed Martin Space, Titusville, Florida received a $76,562,774 modification for TRIDENT II (D5) Life Extension 2 Advanced Design and Development Program efforts. Work will be performed across multiple locations, with Denver, Colorado accounting for 51% of the work. The work is expected to be completed on Sept. 30, 2030.
Fiscal 2026 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $76,562,774 will be obligated on this modification award. Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C, is the contracting activity.
