China and Jordan call for maintaining US-Iran ceasefire
Investing.com -- China and Jordan called for the preservation of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran during a meeting in Beijing on Monday. The two nations also stressed the need to restore normal passage through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a joint statement reported by China's Xinhua news agency.
The statement emphasized that "a comprehensive solution capable of eliminating the root causes" of regional tensions should be reached through dialogue and negotiations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Jordan's King Abdullah in Beijing on Monday, where the two countries also expressed "deep concern over Israel's dangerous escalatory actions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem."
