Investing.com -- Caesars Entertainment said on Thursday that the company and Fertitta Entertainment received a request from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for additional information about the proposed acquisition.
The FTC issued a second request on September 14, according to a regulatory filing. The request is part of the regulator's review of the transaction.
Fertitta Entertainment, owned by hospitality billionaire Tilman Fertitta, agreed to acquire Caesars in a $17.6 billion deal in May. Fertitta Entertainment owns Golden Nugget Hotel and Casinos and the NBA's Houston Rockets.
Caesars also announced that Jesse Lynn and Ted Papapostolou will resign from the company's board, effective immediately. The Icahn Group waived its right to appoint replacement directors.
Lynn and Papapostolou joined the casino operator's board last year as part of an agreement with activist investor Carl Icahn.
