Investing.com -- CNN announced Thursday a strategic multi-year partnership with Google.
The agreement will allow CNN to provide enhanced content rights for experimental features in Google products to explore how generative AI can drive engaged audiences across CNN's journalism.
"With this partnership we're unlocking new pathways for audiences to access CNN's unparalleled journalism while being compensated for the delivery and use of our unique intellectual property in connection with AI products," said Sam Felix, Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development.
Felix added that Google's innovation with generative AI has changed how people discover information and content, and those tools will help explore new ways to discover and engage audiences.
The partnership aligns with CNN's AI strategy that focuses on safeguarding its intellectual property. CNN has multiple commercial partnerships and ongoing discussions with industry players.
