Boeing awarded $2 billion contract for B-52 engine replacement program

Investing.com -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) Defense Systems has secured a $2.04 billion task order from the U.S. Department of War for the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP).

The contract, announced Tuesday, focuses on Post-Critical Design Review development activities for the bomber's engine replacement initiative. Under the agreement, Boeing will complete system integration work and modify two B-52 aircraft with new engines and related subsystems.

The work will be performed across multiple locations including Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; San Antonio, Texas; Seattle, Washington; and Indianapolis, Indiana. The project is scheduled for completion by May 31, 2033.

Initial funding for the program begins with $35.77 million in Fiscal 2026 research, development, test, and evaluation funds. Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma is serving as the contracting activity for the project, which is identified under contract number FA8628-19-D-1000/FA8107-26-F-B001.
