Anthropic CFO holding pre-IPO, valuation not discussed - report
Investing.com -- Anthropic has begun holding preliminary meetings with potential investors ahead of its planned initial public offering, according to a CNBC report Thursday. The artificial intelligence company has not discussed specific financial details or valuation targets during these early conversations.
The company filed its prospectus confidentially with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June. Anthropic has not announced an official timeline for when it plans to go public.
Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao is leading the investor meetings, the report said. The discussions have focused on general topics including the company's Claude AI models, the development of its coding assistant Claude Code, its enterprise market position, management structure, and product releases.
Anthropic closed a funding round in late May at a $965 billion valuation, surpassing OpenAI's $852 billion valuation from late March. The company stated in May that its run-rate revenue exceeded $47 billion, compared to approximately $10 billion in revenue generated throughout 2025.
The company has gained traction selling its technology to large enterprises, a competitive segment of the AI market. Some investors anticipate Anthropic could pursue a valuation of $2 trillion or higher based on its revenue trajectory, the report said. This figure represents investor analysis and has not been confirmed by Anthropic.
