Yahoo! (YHOO) Will Need to Face Class-Action Suit Over Text Spamming

Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) is going to face a class-action lawsuit brought about over allegations of "text" spamming, according to Bloomberg.

The class is defined as people whom reside within the U.S. with mobile phone numbers assigned to Sprint (NYSE: S), as well as those that received a text message from Yahoo! during March 2013.

Plaintiffs allege that the action violates the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The total number of people included in the class could exceed 500,000.

The cases are: Johnson v. Yahoo! Inc., 14-cv-02028, and Calderin v. Yahoo! Inc., 14-cv-02753, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinios (Chicago).
