Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHO) is developing some search products with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) as well as some on its own, according to Laurence “Laurie” Mann, the company's SVP of Search.
Both efforts are aimed at narrowing Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) lead.
"We’ve got some really cool things in the pipeline, which we’ll be announcing and rolling out over the coming months," Mann commented during a Bloomberg interview Wednesday. He noted that CEO Marissa Mayer's top priority is to get search right.
Search services will be aimed at mobile and tablet devices. “Yahoo is dramatically increasing the people in the company working on mobile, and search is no different," Mann noted.
Yahoo is up 1.3 percent on the session.
