Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is testing a way for companies and organizations to pin their mobile app right onto their profile.
TheNextWeb noted the change on Friday.
It wasn't made clear how extensive the testing is, but could provide advantages for companies and Twitter; companies could push their app to users whom have visited their profile, while Twitter would be able to gather data about the most-popular apps being downloaded. But, this is just pure speculation on our part. There may be many more benefits to the initiative for Twitter and corporations.
Of course, this will take away some data from Apple's App Store and Google Play, among other app shops.
Shares of Twitter of indicated higher Friday.
