Twitter (TWTR) Begins Placing Ads Within News Feeds

Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) is beginning to test new advertisements within a user's news feed.
The following appeared in our desktop feed on Twitter this afternoon:

As you can see, the ad popped up between two other accounts and occurred upon refreshing the page. We're not using any other apps besides the basic Twitter platform within, in this instance, Firefox.
The ad was easy enough to close by clicking the X in the upper right-hand side of the post. We haven't seen another ad pop-up as of yet, but will note that there wasn't a typical Twitter survey asking if we liked the feature or not, which may indicate that news feed ads are here to stay.
Shares of Twitter are down just over 4 percent Monday.
