NASDAQ (Nasdaq: NDAQ) is saying good-riddance to Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), which recently said it will leave the exchange for the NYSE, by announcing late Monday that Tesla Motors, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) will replace the database and software giant in the NASDAQ-100 Index (Nasdaq: NDX) and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq: NDXE) prior to market open on Monday, July 15, 2013.
Tesla is quite possibly the hottest stock in the market, which makes the loss of Oracle feel that much less important to NASDAQ.
