According to reports from China Business News, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) will cease its web search operations in China in April. The search giant could make an announcement of its plans on Monday.
The report from China Business News said, "We've gotten news saying Google will leave China on April 10, but this piece of news has not yet been confirmed by the Google side."
The exit of Google from China would be a major positive for rival Baidu.com (Nasdaq: BIDU).
