Re/code's Walt Mossberg offered an initial review of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) new Apple Music streaming platform.
Overall, the initial opinion from Mossberg was mixed, though he did note that he only was able to use the service for one day on an iPhone 6 Plus. Drawbacks to the service include an unusually complicated user interface and little guidance on how to learn features.
Major strengths of the service include smooth integration of existing iTunes songs, strong music curation, and a lower subscription rate under a family plan ($15/month for up to six people, versus $10/month for an individual account).
Mossberg's biggest disappointment of Apple Music was the lack of lyrics.
