Plug Power (Nasdaq: PLUG), FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq: FCEL), and Ballard Power Systems (Nasdaq: BLDP) were pressured again on Friday. Declines follow a volatile week and an intense debate on the Street. With short seller Citron Research openly critical of Plug Power (Nasdaq: PLUG), and with analysts at Roth and Cowen both stepping aside and downgrading the stock to Neutral/Market Perform, momentum traders and long-term bulls are obviously deflated.
Plug is poised to close lower by about 24% this week. FuelCell is lower by 25%, and Ballard Power Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDP) is lower by 6.7%.
