Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) may not look fondly on ZDNet following an article published today.
The technology news-focused ZDNet made a list of best and worst upgrades for a PC. Best included RAM and SSD memory, no surprise there, while worst included buying an new CPI and upgrading Windows.
Ouch.
The article, which was written by a contributor, but still published to the site, said: Unless you're running Windows XP or earlier, don't waste your upgrade money on a new copy of Windows. Not only will the gains be negligible - and that's assuming you see gains - but it's also a slippery slope that can lead you to spending a lot more money on your system.
Shares of Microsoft are down 0.7 percent Friday afternoon.
