McDonald's (MCD) Shares Rising as Traders Drool Over $1 Breakfast Menu

Traders are indulging in shares of McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) this morning following reports that the fast-food chain will begin offering a dollar breakfast menu sometime next month. The stock is now up 0.7% to around $61.04.
The move follows Tuesday's November sales results out of McDonald's, and the recent recognition that soaring levels of unemployment may be impacting the company's breakfast and early-morning sales. As it goes, with fewer consumers commuting to work, less are stopping somewhere for breakfast or a morning coffee.
McDonald's has said that its dollar breakfast menu available nationwide will consist of five items: two sausage sandwiches, a sausage burrito, a hash brown and a 12-oz coffee.
The world's largest fast-food chain has also said, although not breakfast related, that it will begin selling its Mac Snack Wrap -- a wrap-friendly version of the classic Big Mac -- at a discounted price of $1.49 later this month.
