Macy's (NYSE: M) is the latest company to sever ties with presidential candidate Donald Trump following a series of controversial remarks made by the Celebrity Apprentice
star.
According to Reuters, Macy's will phase-out Trump's menswear collection, which has been sold by the retailer since 2004.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Macy's said, Macy's is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion. We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form ... In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy's values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump.
Shares of Macy's are up modestly in afternoon trading.
