Love for Apple (AAPL) is Unbalancing Fund Managers' Portfolios

Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) notable stock performance over the last few years and robust product ecosystem still has fund manager's rushing to buy more. And, that could be a problem.

Reuters noted Monday that fund managers are unbalancing portfolios with the addition of additional Apple stock. Many have self-imposed guidelines that a portfolio cannot contain more than 5 percent of one stock, while many have 10 percent or more in Apple shares.

Most didn't expect to have as much Apple as they do and funds will generally trim down positions when they move above 5 percent, but that hasn't been the case.

Reuters highlighted the Burnham Fund, which has 15 percent of its $136 million in Apple. Manger John Burnham commented, I think they are doing everything right and it's still a cheap stock based on earnings and revenue ... It's the world's greatest company. I just don't see any reason to sell it.

Investors seem to agree with Appl up over 0.6 percent Monday and 14 percent in 2015.
