Goldman Sachs commented on the implications in technology of the strong Q2 results and solid Q3 guidance from Intel (Nasdaq: INTC).
The firm said the report, "should help mitigate several concerns about the health of the semi cycle, with the long anticipated enterprise cycle driving P&L upside for the first time, demand in China and Europe picking up later in the quarter, and channel inventory very lean."
The firm said Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE), and VMware (NYSE: VMW) should benefit from both data center and client PC spending; QLogic (Nasdaq: QLGC) and Emulex (NYSE: ELX) should benefit from strong server growth; and Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX), and Tech Data (Nasdaq: TECD) are well positioned with lean inventory and an ongoing PC refresh.
