General Electric (NYSE: GE) shares are indicated for a modestly higher open Friday morning amid reports the company plans to significantly increase its presence in one giant emerging market over the next couple years.
According to reports out Friday morning, GE is looking to double the number of joint ventures its involved with in China to about 56. Comments were made by Global Operations head John Rice at an American Chamber of Commerce event in Hong Kong, Reuters noted.
GE currently is part of 28 joint ventures in China.
Shares are up about 0.4 percent ahead of the bell.
