Freeport McMoRan (NYSE: FCX) shares are on watch following news that workers at its Cerro Verde mine in Peru are planning to go on strike.
Reuters said today that the 48-hour strike will commence on April 8th. Reason behind the event weren't made clear at the time of the report.
Cerro Verde is one of the largest copper deposits in Peru.
Shares of Freeport are lower in early trading.
