Well, that didn't take long.
After this mornings nonfarm jobs report for September was issued this morning, at least one outspoken critic refused to remain quite.
Former General Electric (NYSE: GE) CEO and motivations magnate Jack Welch issued this statement on his Twitter machine:
"Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can't debate so change numbers."
Welch may have been referring to the unemployment rate, which dropped 0.3 points to 7.8 percent in September. That's the first time unemployment in the U.S. has been below 8 percent in four years and comes just ahead of presidential elections in November.
If you haven't guessed, Welch is a supporter of Republication candidate Mitt Romney.
Bloomberg said that spokespeople from Obama and Romney campaigns, as well as GE itself, did not issue a comment on the tweet. White House Council of Economic Advisers chair Alan Krueger called the comment, "irresponsible."
Barack Obama was an Illinois state Senator before being elected as U.S. President in 2008. U.S. markets are up across the board today.
