Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) recently released the 90D/P90D version of its acclaimed Model S sedan, but what's next for Elon Musk & Co.?
According to Electrek.co, the next Model S iteration could hit the century mark. The site noted a message sent to Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Twitter earlier Thursday. The message read:
@elonmusk @teslamotors #tesla I know your secret. SHA256 of best part: 5fc38436ec295b0049f186651ebba5fd55e8d7b81eb61cbd00d3f1bf18dd9c81
— Jason Hughes (@wk057) March 4, 2016
Using various filters, Tesla Motor Club members decoded the message as saying "P100D," which could indicated that the capacity of the upcoming Model S will reach 100-kWh, or an 11 percent boost from the 90--kWh 90D/P90D.
The hacker said that firmware updates as recent as two months ago reference the expanded-capacity vehicle.
Shares of Tesla are up 2.9 percent.
