Boeing (NYSE: BA) shares are up on the session as the venerable aerospace giant is making a splash at the Paris Air Show.
Earlier, Boeing issued a press release announcing the launch of its 787-10 Dreamliner, a longer-bodied version of the current 787 model.
In addition, Boeing said that it had commitments for 102 orders for the aircraft, a number that could easily stretch into the 11-digit range and provide Boeing investors with yet another level of confidence.
Orders for the 787-10 came in as Boeing just received FAA clearance for its battery fix, ultimately leading to carriers being able to return the 787 to service. It's a vote of confidence for the aircraft and company itself.
Investors should also be confident that orders will keep rolling and not just for Boeing. Last week, Boeing commented that it sees massive growth in the segment, with capacity set to double in the next 20 years.
Shares are up 0.4 percent Tuesday.
