Rumors Monday on the BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) vine suggest the company could release a low-cost version of the Q10 shortly named the R10. The rumors were so strong that the term 'BlackBerry R10' was a Top 10 trending topic on Twitter Monday morning.
According to the specs, noted by Engaget citing DGtle, the smartphone will offer the same 3.1-inch screen size and 2GB of RAM as the Q10 but will have a smaller 5-megapixel camera, less storage and a smaller battery.
While nothing may come of the rumors, Engaget said the company could unveil the product as soon as next week's (May 14-16) BlackBerry Live conference.
Shares of BlackBerry are indicated 0.45% to $15.70 higher in pre-open trading Monday.
