Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is coming off the lows as commentary suggests that rumors that COO Tim Cook is leaving to join HP (NYSE: HP) is "improbable."

BusinessInsider notes that Cook is in-line to become CEO at Apple if Steve Jobs ever retires. Also an internal candidate is more likely at HP, as bringing in in an outsider would be "daunting."

Shares of AAPL are down down just $5, or 1.7 percent, to $286.20. They traded as low as $276.10 earlier.
