KGI said Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) could have Apple Watch orders totaling 2.3 million units, which would cover deliveries through the end of May.
According to 9to5mac, nalyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the Apple Watch Sport model accounted for 85 percent of the pre-orders, while the standard Apple Watch amounted to about 15 percent, and the high-end Edition at under 1 percent.
Kuo thinks supply issues center around the vibration unit in the Apple Watch, which provides haptic feedback to users. The AMOLED display is another production constraint, with previous reports pointing to lifespan and color output issues.
Kuo also sees production of the Apple Watch at about two to three milion units per month, until a holiday ramp later this year.
Shares of Apple are lower in early trading Thursday.
