Apple (AAPL) Said to Delay Live TV Service Until 2016

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) said to delay live-TV service until 2016, according to Bloomberg.

UPDATE - Sources said Apple initially wanted to introduce streaming live TV this year, but licensing talks with content providers like CBS Corp. (NYSE: CBS) and 21st Century Fox (Nasdaq: FOXA) have broken down.

Other sources said the Apple doesn't have the computer network capacity to ensure a good viewing experience.

Apple was originally going to make the announcement at its September 9th event, which is when the company is also expected to debut the next versions of its iPhone handset. The company will also debut an updated Apple TV set-top box, among other items.

Apple shares are slightly lower in late trading Thursday.
