The heat is on, as Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is looking for further price savings from suppliers.
According to China's Economic Daily News, Apple is demanding a 10 percent price quote cut from suppliers of PCBs, optical components, battery modules and touch panels in the second quarter.
Apple has made the demand as iPad sales are expected to grow 70 percent sequentially, adding significant benefit to upstream component suppliers.
With continued success of its tablet PC, Apple may demand further price cuts into the third quarter, the article notes.
Apple, Inc., stock is trading about 0.7 percent stronger pre-market, after closing down 1.54 percent yesterday.
