Apple (AAPL) Plans to Open R&D Facility in Japan

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is planning to open up a large Research & Development facility in Japan as it looks to firm its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to India's Economic Times, citing Japan's Jiji news on the quote, prime minister Abe Shinzo said, Apple has decided it undertake cutting-edge R&D in Japan ... It will be formally announced soon.
Abe also noted that the facility will be on-par with Apple's largest facilities in the region, though specifics weren't offered.
Shares of Apple are lower in early trading Tuesday following a 2.3 percent dip on Monday's session.
