Apple (AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs Continues to Lead From Home

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) co-founder and chief executive officer Steve Jobs is currently on medical leave to focus on his health, but according to a report in the Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the matter.

Jobs is reportedly taking business meeting at his home and on the phone. The 55-year-old CEO has not disclosed the nature of his ailment.

The sources cited in the report also said that Jobs has been seen on the Cupertino, California campus of Apple, as well as in public in Palo Alto.

Jobs has been in close conversations about the continuing development of the next iPad tablet computer, expected int he next few months, and the new iPhone projected for release this summer.

"Steve is the CEO of Apple and during his medical leave he'll continue to be involved in major strategic decisions," said an Apple spokeswoman.

Jobs has had several medical problems in recent years, having been treated for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004 and receiving a liver transplant in 2009. His latest ailment has not been specified and Apple has not disclosed any more on his condition.
