Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) announced today it has now started to test the much-anticipated Edit Tweet feature. The feature is currently in the “internal testing” phase.
“Tweets will be able to be edited a few times in the 30 minutes following their publication,” the company said in a blog post.
“Edited Tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label so it’s clear to readers that the original Tweet has been modified.”
As expected, the edit feature will also include a complete edit history. Among other things, Twitter wants to see in the testing phase “how people might misuse the feature.”
The goal is to have this feature available to “some” Twitter Blue subscribers later this month.
“The test will be localized to a single country at first and expand as we learn and observe how people use Edit Tweet.”
The announcement comes after the social media company announced recently it has raised its Blue price in the U.S. to $4.99 per month from the prior $2.99.
Twitter stock price closed at $38.75 yesterday.
