Bunge adjusts segment reporting structure after Viterra merger

October 15, 2025 6:01 AM UTC

Bunge Global SA (NYSE: BG) announced changes to its segment reporting structure following the completion of its merger with Viterra Limited. The company has reorganized its operations into four new reportable segments: Soybean Processing and Refining, Softseed Processing and Refining, Other Oilseeds Processing and Refining, and Grain Merchandising and Milling.

The restructuring reflects how Chief Executive Officer Greg Heckman reviews financial information to allocate resources and assess performance. The changes primarily involve realigning oilseeds operations by commodity type and combining grain merchandising and milling operations into a single segment.

Bunge has also updated its volume reporting methodology to align with the new segment structure and the company's primary income-generating activities. The new volume metrics include processed oilseed volumes, merchandised volumes, and supplemental refined oil production volumes for relevant segments.

The company revised its full-year 2025 adjusted earnings per share outlook to $7.30-$7.60, down from its previous estimate of approximately $7.75. The updated guidance includes Viterra's contribution and reflects current market conditions. Bunge expects second-half adjusted EPS of $4.00-$4.25.

The Viterra merger closed on July 2, 2025. Bunge's previous outlook had excluded the impact of this transaction. The company will provide additional details about its outlook and market environment during its third-quarter earnings call scheduled for November 5.

The segment changes do not affect previously reported consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, or cash flows. Bunge has provided recast financial information for 2024 and the first two quarters of 2025 to illustrate the impact of the new reporting structure.
