Study Finds Shared Truckload Delivers Measurable, Multiyear ROI Across Business Profiles

Encinitas, CA, Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Flock Freight, the largest Shared Truckload freight brokerage in the U.S., today released The ROI of Shared Truckload, a study examining the financial impact of the freight mode across enterprise, mid-market, small business, and super small customer profiles.

The analysis found that the average enterprise Flock customer saved $735,171 annually by using Shared Truckload, which pools compatible freight from multiple shippers in one truck while paying only for the space they use. On average, customers saved 23% compared to moving the same freight in a partially empty truckload.

The study’s findings include:

• Savings that build over time: Average savings across all customer profiles increased from $90,253 in year one to $135,821 in year three, with cumulative three-year savings reaching $343,144. Enterprise customers reached $1,162,340 in savings in their first three years.
• Greater value as rates rise: Average customer savings grew 40% year over year from 2025 to 2026, reinforcing the value of Shared Truckload when freight budgets are under pressure in an inflationary market.
• A clear fit for underutilized truckload freight: Shared Truckload is best suited to shipments of roughly 10 to 40 linear feet moving on recurring lanes. This freight is too large for LTL but does not require a full trailer.

The study compared what customers paid for Shared Truckload with the estimated market cost of moving the same freight in a partially empty truckload. It used shipment data from Flock’s ramped customers and segmented results by company size to help shippers benchmark the potential value for their own networks.
