BEIJING, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Global Alliance for Trade in Services unveiled its latest research output, the Global Service Trade Digital Development Index Report 2026, alongside a portfolio of high-value signed cooperation projects and service demonstration cases during the outcomes release session of the 2026 Global Service Trade Entrepreneurs Conference.

Hosted by the Global Alliance for Trade in Services on September 10, the conference took place at Shougang Park in Beijing and serves as one of the thematic forums under the "Smart Innovation" section of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

Centered on the theme "Empowering Innovative Development with Digital Intelligence", the conference systematically illustrates the evolutionary trends of digitalization in global service trade and the practical outcomes of industrial rollout. Compared with previous rounds of releases, this batch of outcomes features four core highlights.

First, an innovative index evaluation framework has been established. For the first time, the report defines the connotation of "digitalization of trade in services". It builds an evaluation system covering five primary indicators: infrastructure, factor support, service industry, trade in services, and service governance. The report captures a development trajectory of "non-uniform rise" and "bimodal growth" across global indices, with clear tiered gaps separating leading, catching-up and emerging economies.

Second, international and industry-university-research cooperation mechanisms have been comprehensively upgraded. The Global Alliance for Trade in Services has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Starting in 2026, the two parties will co-organize the Global Service Trade Development Roundtable together with the International Trade Centre (ITC). The Alliance also inked an industry-university-research cooperation agreement with the University of International Business and Economics to deepen think tank research and talent cultivation.

Third, member enterprises have secured high-value overseas contracts leveraging cutting-edge technologies. The conference facilitated practical cooperation between multiple Chinese and foreign partners. The projects span silver economy exchanges, local human resource deployment in South America and the Middle East, and frontier sectors including integrated space-ground intelligent training platforms and physical AI simulation training scenarios.

Fourth, the selected demonstration cases deliver strong exemplary value. Ten demonstration cases were picked in the fields of enterprise global expansion, service consumption, and green and low-carbon development. Among them, Global Wisdoms "Data-Intelligence Driven One-stop Solution for Enterprises' Global Trade Expansion" was selected as an outstanding CIFTIS demonstration case. It offers a tangible example showing how data intelligence empowers high-quality innovation within service trade.
