Wells Fargo expects loan growth to exceed guidance for 2026
Investing.com -- Wells Fargo CFO Mike Santomassimo said Tuesday that the bank’s loan growth will likely surpass its full-year 2026 guidance. He made the remarks while speaking at the Barclays Global Financial Services Conference.
Santomassimo said activity levels in the U.S. economy remain strong. The bank has not observed changes in delinquency trends, he added.
The CFO noted that middle market customers continue to show caution in their business decisions.
Wells Fargo anticipates this year and early next year to be healthy periods for the bank, Santomassimo said.
He also indicated that the bank’s net interest margin could perform better than guidance in the third quarter. The full-year 2026 net interest income forecast remains unchanged, he said.
Wells Fargo shares climbed 1.5% Tuesday morning following the presentation.
