Investing.com -- Terrestrial Energy Inc (NASDAQ: IMSR) shares rose more than 11% in premarket trading Tuesday following the company's announcement of a share repurchase program authorizing up to $25 million of its common stock.

The Generation IV molten salt nuclear plant developer said its Board of Directors approved the buyback program, which will be funded from existing cash on hand. The company may repurchase shares through open market purchases, privately negotiated transactions, block trades or other means.

The timing, manner, price and amount of repurchases will be determined by management based on market conditions, share price, capital requirements and other factors. The program does not obligate the company to repurchase any specific amount of stock and may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

The repurchase program will expire on October 22, 2027. As of October 23, 2026, Terrestrial Energy had approximately 105.9 million shares of common stock outstanding, including shares issuable upon exchange of outstanding exchangeable shares.

Terrestrial Energy develops nuclear plants powered by its Integral Molten Salt Reactor technology, designed to supply heat and electricity for industrial applications including data centers and petrochemical synthesis. The company is working toward fleet deployment of its plants across multiple U.S. sites in the 2030s.
