Investing.com -- Qiagen N.V. (NYSE: QGEN) announced Monday that Jonathan M. Pratt will become chief executive officer on September 1, 2026, as the molecular testing company continues discussions with potential buyers.
Pratt brings over 25 years of leadership experience in life sciences and laboratory technologies. He most recently served as president and CEO of Filtration Group, leading the business through its sale to Parker-Hannifin Corporation in August 2026.
He previously held positions as senior vice president of the Waters Division at Waters Corporation and as president of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher operating company. Pratt also held senior roles at Pall Corporation.
The appointment follows a comprehensive search process. Pratt will succeed Thierry Bernard, who will step down as CEO and managing director but will support the transition through the end of the year.
"Jon combines deep knowledge of our markets with a strong international record of strengthening commercial execution and operational performance," said Stephen H. Rusckowski, chairman of the supervisory board.
Qiagen is currently in discussions about a potential takeover and has opened a data room for suitors to conduct due diligence, according to a report from Bloomberg News today, citing sources. EQT AB and KKR & Co. are among firms exploring offers for the company.
The company reaffirmed its outlook for the third quarter and full-year 2026. The supervisory board continues to evaluate opportunities with independent financial and legal advisors as part of its strategic review.
