Trading in Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) listed securities were halted due to an issue with its UTP SIP quote dissemination on Thursday. As of 2pm, trading had not resumed, frustrating traders. The outage affected a large number of stocks and skewed the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500.
While today's outage is unprecedented, with Facebook's IPO still on the mind of investors, clearly this isn't first time Nasdaq has had problems, and many are wondering what the affect on Nasdaq's own stock will be.
Nasdaq plans to resume trading on all securities beginning at 3:10pm.
