Investing.com -- Microvision Inc (NASDAQ: MVIS) shares fell 12% in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company reaffirmed its 2026 revenue guidance without raising expectations.
The perception technology company maintained its full year 2026 revenue outlook of $10 million to $15 million and projected revenue to double in 2027. The company also outlined plans to reduce cash burn in 2027 compared with 2026 through cost savings initiatives.
MicroVision reported progress on its Lidar 2.0 strategy, which expanded its product portfolio to serve industrial, security and defense, intelligent infrastructure, and other markets. The company's products include IRIS, HALO, MOVIA S, MOVIA L, MOVIA Air and MOVIA Air Plus, alongside photonics capabilities through Scantinel and MicroVision Semiconductor Inc.
Chief Executive Officer Glen DeVos said the company has transformed from a business dependent on limited long-cycle opportunities into a portfolio product company serving diversified end markets. Recent commercial activity included opportunities with Robinson Unmanned, photonics applications for AI data centers, and IRIS deployments for autonomous ground vehicle defense applications.
Chief Financial Officer Christine Chambers said the company is prioritizing investments that support commercialization and revenue growth while maintaining financial discipline. The company completed integration of acquired Luminar assets and consolidated U.S. manufacturing operations in Orlando.
MicroVision said it is evaluating opportunities to strengthen its balance sheet, including its debt structure, lease obligations, and potential monetization of non-core assets. The company expects to provide additional information on third quarter performance during its upcoming third quarter 2026 earnings call.
