Investing.com -- Jefferies released its monthly weather tracker for the building and construction sector, showing September weather patterns across the Northern Hemisphere continued trends seen throughout the third quarter.

In Europe, most countries remained drier than average through the quarter. France, Germany, Spain and Italy recorded fewer extreme precipitation days compared to last year in the third quarter. Poland and Finland were exceptions, experiencing more severe rainy days than their averages.

Wildfires in Spain and France caused disruption throughout the quarter, alongside heatwaves in July and August. Romania remained notably drier than usual, while Nordic countries were less wet overall, with Finland as the only exception.

The United States saw slightly lower rainfall compared to last year for the third quarter. Regional differences persisted, with states along the northern Mississippi experiencing wetter weather, while southern areas were moderately drier.

New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut recorded more precipitation than usual, while other northeastern states showed mixed results. Texas saw fewer rainy days in the third quarter after a particularly rainy second quarter.

The hail season lasted longer than usual, bringing cumulative hail storms to 4% above last year through September. This follows last year's weaker hail season.

Latin America was less wet than average overall in the third quarter, though Brazil saw a large increase in severe rain compared to last year.

In Asia-Pacific, Australia and China recorded fewer severe rainy days compared to last year for the third quarter, while Japan and India saw a moderate increase.

The United Kingdom saw fewer days of extreme precipitation in the third quarter, with September marking another drier than average month. Heat-related disruption from July and August likely subsided with cooler September weather.
