Jefferies reports September trends for overseas tech platforms

Investing.com -- Jefferies released monthly data trends for overseas technology sub-sectors through September 25, showing varied performance across e-commerce, gaming, and delivery platforms.

Shopee's global monthly active users rose 5% year-over-year to 532 million in September. The platform saw MAU growth of 5% in Southeast Asia to 398 million and 10% in Brazil to 112 million. TikTok's MAU in Southeast Asia and Brazil increased 14% and 8% respectively to 509 million and 148 million.

Tokopedia's MAU fell 19% year-over-year in Indonesia, while Lazada's MAU declined in Southeast Asia.

Free Fire's global game grossing across iOS and Android grew 13% year-over-year in September, recovering from weakness in August. Brazil showed the fastest growth among regions.

Temu's total MAU declined 9% year-over-year to 464 million in September, compared to a 15% decline in August. US MAU increased 6% year-over-year to about 75 million, representing 16% of the total. Non-US MAU fell 11% year-over-year to 389 million.

For Meitu's overseas applications, BeautyCam's MAU increased 4% year-over-year in September. Meitu's overseas app MAU rose 6% year-over-year, while Wink's MAU grew 24% year-over-year.

Grab's MAU in Southeast Asia declined 7% year-over-year to 102 million in September. Indonesia MAU fell about 3% year-over-year to 46 million, representing 49% of total Southeast Asia MAU.

GoPay's MAU in Indonesia increased 46% year-over-year to about 49 million in September.

Keeta ranked second by MAU in the Middle East with 9.2 million, behind HungerStation at 9.8 million and ahead of talabat at 5.6 million. In Brazil, Keeta reached 4.4 million MAU, behind iFood's 99.8 million.
