Equities Turn Green as Fears Wane (SPY)
After a brutal start Thursday, major indexes including the S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq turned solidly green mid-afternoon as fears about turmoil in the Middle East subsided. Ongoing talk related to a so-called 'biotech bubble' appears to have also subsided near-term, with iShares Nasdaq Biotechnolog up nearly 1%. Meanwhile, the VIX, or fear index, cratered after spiking as high as 17.
