EV Li Auto (LI) Stock Falls Despite Strong Results

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) reported Q4 revenue that beat consensus estimates. The Chinese carmaker posted Q4 revenue of 10.62 billion yuan, up from 4.15 billion YOY and above the consensus estimates of 10.29 billion yuan.

Net income totaled 295.5 million yuan, compared to 107.5 million YOY and above the expected loss of 118 million yuan.

Vehicle deliveries totaled 35,221 units in the quarter, up from 14,464 YOY and above the consensus estimates of 34,168. The gross margin was 22.4%, compared to 17.5% YOY and 21.2% consensus.

Going forward, Li Auto expects Q1 revenue in the range of 8.84 billion yuan to 9.43 billion yuan, below the consensus estimates of 9.81 billion yuan. The carmaker expects vehicle deliveries in the first quarter to range between 30,000 and 32,000.

“Our robust performance in the fourth quarter of 2021 capped a remarkable year of growth for Li Auto,” said Mr. Tie Li, Li Auto’s CFO.

“Additionally, as we continued to scale up deliveries while remaining highly focused on disciplined execution, our full-year operating cash flow reached RMB8.3 billion, providing us with strong support for R&D investment and business growth.”
