UPDATE: Nasdaq Trades Flat After Paring Earlier Decline

The Nasdaq composite was the first major index to claw its way back from a sharp decline Monday morning following weakness overnight.The index traded roughly flat heading into mid-day, after early trading lower by about 1%.
The S&P 500 and the Dow average remained in negative territory, down about 0.3%, but were well off lows.
